Artist Statement
My current artwork explores the sensorial body, attention, disability and healing. Following a cancer diagnosis and neurosurgery, I have re-learned to draw and be in the world by working in graphite, ink, collage and ceramics. Starting with a beginner's mind and working towards equilibrium, I now use my most fluent language—the visual—to reconnect and explore the fundamentals of being present and alive.
Artist Bio
Meg Rotzel is an artist and curator based in Boston, MA. Her artwork is rooted in the practice of noticing, drawing, and recording through image. In her curatorial work, Meg commissions artists to create new work in the university context that engages with knowledge production and community, and the legacies of collections and colonialism.
