Outcropping (2024)
Ceramic, wood, epoxy, hardware, fishing line.
Outcropping is a site-specific installation comprised of dozens of tiny pinch pots gathered into organic assemblages, each becoming a pool for colored glazes. Together, they are meant to look perfectly random, organic yet balanced. They are available separately or as sets of 3-10.
Artist Statement
I am a process-driven artist interested in accumulation and repetitive motion as a way of creating intricate, maximalist designs. I grew up in Eugene Oregon where hippies and homesteaders coalesce, and I see the influence of both in my work – a whimsical weirdness combined with a desire to touch dirt and build practical skills rooted in an understanding of the land. I am often drawn to processes that involve repeated movements that draw me into a flow state as I create.
